Laboratory Assistant

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Research Laboratory Assistant to support our clinical research efforts. This individual will play a key role in the lab, managing and processing biological samples, maintaining lab records, ensuring quality control, and assisting with research-related administrative tasks. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in laboratory procedures, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for advancing clinical research in endocrinology and obesity treatment. This position offers a balanced schedule with long weekends and a supportive, team-oriented atmosphere.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Friday: 8:00 am – 3:30 pm
- Prepare, process, and store biological samples according to research protocols and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including sample logs, inventory, and quality control documentation.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines, including Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and other applicable standards.
- Assist in managing lab equipment, including maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Collaborate with clinical research staff to support patient sample collection and lab processes.
- Coordinate the shipment and receipt of lab samples with external vendors and labs.
- Track and manage lab supplies, including ordering and inventory control.
- Assist in the preparation and review of lab-related documentation and research materials.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing insights on lab operations and sample management best practices.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment, following all laboratory safety protocols.

Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or research setting preferred.

Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and other regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with basic lab equipment and sample processing procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic data management systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Key Responsibilities:

- Educate patients and families on disease management, prevention, and wellness strategies.
- Monitor patient progress, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current Physician Assistant license in Florida and NCCPA certification.
- Experience or strong interest in endocrinology, particularly diabetes and thyroid disorders.
